On this day, we honor the courageous defenders who gave their lives for the independence of our state and the freedom of the Ukrainian people.
August 29 was not chosen by chance. It was then in 2014, that one of the most terrible tragedies of the war with russia occurred: while leaving the Ilovaisk Cauldron, Ukrainian fighters came under insidious enemy fire, although they were supposed to go along a safe “green corridor” through sunflower fields.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the struggle for Ukraine has taken on a new scale – with new feats, examples of indomitability and, unfortunately, losses.
The war is still ongoing. Every day, at 09:00 a.m. we pause to remember and honor those who failed to return from battle.
Our military paid the ultimate price for Ukraine’s right to be free. Our duty is to hold the memory of them and pass it on to future generations.
As long as we remember defenders, they will live!
